For this submission period, we’re seeking speculative fiction that explores the power of sound and silence. We want stories that linger in the echoes between words, uncover secrets hidden beneath the noise, and imagine worlds transformed by what is heard—and what is left unsaid.

Perhaps a city survives through songs woven with magic. Maybe silence is a forbidden force capable of unraveling reality. A ghost communicates through static on a radio. An alien species speaks in colors instead of sound. A scientist discovers a frequency that opens doorways to other worlds. A kingdom loses its collective voice. A monster waits in the quiet.

We welcome all forms of speculative fiction, including fantasy, science fiction, horror, magical realism, slipstream, and genre-blending works. Whether your story centers on music, language, communication, noise, stillness, memory, isolation, or the spaces between, we want narratives that embrace the strange, the wondrous, and the impossible.

• Fantasy, science fiction, horror, magical realism, and other speculative genres

• Fresh perspectives, compelling characters, and imaginative worlds

• Stories that interpret the theme broadly or unexpectedly

​

• Realistic fiction without speculative elements

• Fan fiction or previously published work

• Stories that rely solely on the theme without a strong narrative foundation
