'Sinking Into The Sky' explores the sky during a windstorm. If you were to look the night sky under these condition's, in a certain place, you would begin to swim across the sky as if it were the sea.

​'to astral project' explores astral projection. The poem theorizes that those who are able to astral project are able to enter into other people's dreams and essentially become life or death themselves.
Sinking Into The Sky
If you stand under a tree,
in the pitch dead of night,
during a windstorm with no rain;
it would look as though
the sky had swapped places
with the ocean’s waves.
The stars swim so quickly
that they drag you into the
noir of the night.
You become a star yourself,
blessed to glide beside a comet
destined to land back on earth.
The moon taunts your
every curiosity as
an anglerfish in the deep.
Your skin would shine
as you swim deeper
and deeper
into the galaxy.
You shine as a star yourself,
waving home for
your family to see
what you have achieved.
Through time,
the wind dies down.
The leaves no longer fall
like bubbles in the sky.
And earth welcomes you back
from your journey into
the deep night, as it
found itself in its own
journey across the ocean.
To Astral Project
​
Somewhere at some time
it was spoken into existence,
that to astral project
is to walk through
someone else’s dreams.
Your soul escapes the quiet mind
to find another so deep in
an imaginary world, so they
would not have to be alone.
A movie projected by their thoughts;
but you watch through their eyes.
Everything they feel,
you feel in tandem.
This story that they live
while asleep, becomes an
escape amongst the many
of life’s harsh realities.
Because sometimes it is easier
to live in a masquerade
of someone else’s making
than in your own waking story.
